The world of mobility scooters is changing, gone are the days of getting a mobility scooter which looks ugly and only gives you a couple of miles per charge to visit the local shops and then having to go home because its running out of battery. Now you can get much bigger mobility scooters which provide a greater distance per charge and come with impressive suspension and ground clearance so high you might even need a step to get on.
Below is a couple of mobility scooters which are design to allow the user to go and explore the great outdoors and enjoy the benefits which that provide.
The Breeze S4
The Breeze S4 by TGA Mobility has a ground clearance of 16cm (6.5inch) which is very high for a mobility scooter and with its large frame make it very sturdy over uneven ground. But what does make the Breeze S4 extra special is that you can enhance it with a couple of upgrades. Such as a set of heavy duty batteries or a GT Upgrade which includes larger golf style rear wheels and a larger rear mud flaps, But one of the best upgrade is that a solid canopy can be fitted with vinyl sides to provide protection from the elements when you are exploring the great outdoors.

The Colt Executive
From Pride Mobility, the Colt Executive apart from the looks which makes it stand out from the crowd and just says ‘off road’ is fitted with 100amp batteries as standard providing a larger distance and was one of the first mobility scooters on the market which had a LCD display fitted provide fast and current reading of the speed, distance travelled and even the temperature. What make the Colt Executive idea for travelling off road apart from a ground clearance of 13.3cm is the double arm suspension at the front and the grippy pneumatic tyres ensuring traction whatever the terrain.

The Ranger
Based on the popularity of the Colt Executive, Pride Mobility have given it some steroids and have come up with the Ranger, the ultimate off road mobility scooter! Fitted with even larger pneumatic tyres for better traction, bigger suspension to be able to travel over really rough terrain and comes with a impressive ground clearance of 14cm. The Ranger has got a larger frame which will make it more stable but has got a rear backup sensor providing the ability to manoeuvre it easier. But what really makes the model stand out from any other is that instead of a transaxle contenting the two rear wheels, it is fitted with two rear motors providing independent power so if one wheel is off the ground the other will still provide power to move the mobility scooter along and it will still do 8mph.
