1st Step Mobility are passionate about ensuring you can live your life as independently as possible in your own home. Home nursing equipment can really offer you the support necessary to provide you with that independence. There are a lot of different types of equipment that can be beneficial to different people, but choosing the right one can be difficult. Here are some of the equipment we provide and the type of injuries they can help.
Bath lift
If you want to be able to bathe independently without having to rely on other people, this could be the piece of home nursing equipment for you. A bath lift fits to the bottom of your bath via suckers and is operated by a simple to use hand-held, rechargeable controller. It allows you to sit on it and then slowly lower yourself into the bath, reducing any possible risks drastically. You can lean back and relax when you’re fully submerged in the water.
Shower chair/stool
Showers can be difficult without home nursing equipment to help you out a little. Shower chairs and stools can really help you be able to wash without the added risk of slipping. Another benefit of a shower stool or chair is that you can preserve your energy while washing and you can use it for other tasks or hobbies. Chairs and stools are also removable without too much effort, so sharing a bathroom won’t stop you from getting the help you require.
Bath step
Getting into or out of a bath is a risk in any bathroom. It involves lifting one leg, forcing you to balance on just one, and stepping straight onto a slippery surface. If this is something you struggle with, bath steps might be the help you require. Not only do they make entering the bath much safer and easier, but they also require little or no installation at all.
