To proud to use a mobility scooter
Do you know someone who could really benefit from having a mobility scooter or a powerchair but are too proud (or even stubborn) to have one! This is something which we see all the time, with many people choosing to struggle or suffer in pain. Some people see that using a mobility scooter might be a form of giving up or laziness but that is far from the truth.
If you are in this situation or know someone who is, the best way to deal with it is to focus on the positive points which having a mobility scooter will give them.
Independence
One of the 1st things which is lost when people loose there mobility is their independence, people then start to rely on other people to get things such as the weekly shop or just a couple of pints of milk for a cup of tea!
Happiness
Having to rely on someone can sometimes make you feel down and could cause depression, so having the ability to go out and about and visit the places you want and even just get some fresh air will help change your mood and make you feel happier.
Mindfulness
When you have a mobility product you will use your mind to negotiate the pavements road to travel about helps to keep the mind sharp and active which is very important to people of all ages.
Humble Pie
If you are lucky that the person in the end does get a mobility scooter they will always say it is one of the best things they have ever done, so keep trying!
